The Parents’ Association works closely with the school to provide additional funding to enhance the education of boys attending the John Hampden Grammar School.

The PA has full Charity Status.

Membership is free. 

All parents/guardians are automatically members of the PA whilst their son(s) are at the school.

The AGM is always held at the beginning of the Autumn Term. Last year it was held on September 18th 2008 when the new Committee was elected. A new Chairperson was elected this year Philip Maskell supported by Deputy Chair Lak Sidhu, Secretary Kath Bedford, Treasurer Jane Brown and other active Committee members.

The PA raises funds for the school, organises social events, provides catering for some school activities and manages the collection and sale of second-hand uniform.

Last year PA activities enabled the PA to hand over a cheque for £20,000 to the school on September 18th. This funding has enabled the school to spend the following:

•	Five more electronic whiteboards for classrooms
•	PDAs for the PE Dept to enable registration on the school fields
•	Starter equipment for the new Music studio
•	Microphone and headphones  for the Modern Foreign Language Dept
•	Equipment for the Gifted and Talented Group

The PA organises fundraising and social events throughout the year. Our Newsletter, which we publish each term in print and on this website, provides the latest information on forthcoming events. This year’s programme includes:-

Year 7/8 Parents’ Quiz night
Paintball Day 
Spring Ball
Race Night (details to follow!)

The PA also organises the catering at school events throughout the year.

The PA also raises funds through other activities such as the 100 Club draw which awards cash prizes six times a year and the Easter Raffle which offers exciting and original prizes.
